What We Believe
Knowing what a church believes is vitally important. Here is a summary of our convictions.
The Five Solas are five Latin phrases (or slogans) that summarize the essentials of Christianity. These phrases have been in use since the Reformation, and we find them useful for summarizing our convictions as well.
The Apostle’s Creed is not scripture, but a summary of scripture. It was not written by the apostles, but was composed about 50 years after the last NT writing.
Like the Five Solas, this serves has a helpful summary of our core convictions.
We believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Living Hope Church is a non-denominational gathering of Christians that worship Jesus and want to show the community what God is like. We are made up of people from Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point, Kernersville, and all points across the Triad region of North Carolina.
