Acts 1:1–5
Many people want Jesus without the Spirit, or the Spirit without Jesus. They may claim to be Christ centered, but reject the work of the Spirit as unreliable emotionalism. Or they embrace the work of the Spirit manifesting in miracles, joy, and spiritual experiences but refuse the sanctifying work of Jesus in their character.
But we cannot have Christ, without the Spirit and the Spirit is doing the work of Christ. They are perfectly unified, and you cannot have one without the other.
Jesus has given us the Spirit as a gift, and to reject the Gift is to reject the Giver.
