This Easter sermon teaches that through the cross, Jesus took on and destroyed humanity’s sin in His flesh, and through the resurrection, He was vindicated—proving that sin and death no longer have power over Him or those united to Him. Because of this, believers are not only forgiven but declared righteous and alive to God, sharing in Christ’s victory even now.
While Christians still live in the tension of the “already” and the “not yet,” the resurrection assures them that both their salvation and their present suffering will ultimately be vindicated.
