Faith and Lament

Faith and Lament

The sermon connects the book of Job with Psalm 22 to show that lament—honest, even painful complaints to God—is a normal and faithful response to suffering, not a sign of weak faith. By pointing to Jesus quoting “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” on the cross, it argues that expressing feelings of abandonment is itself an act of trust, since it is directed toward God as Father.

Ultimately, the message is that true faith is not confident certainty but continuing to turn toward God in pain, trusting Him even when He seems silent.
